Hello everyone! As I said in my previous post, there are so many things happening in these 11 days during Zürich Food Festival. If you wanna know more about the Street Food Festival please click here to view my previous post “Food Zürich! – Street Food Festival”. If you wanna know more about Food Couture by Diana Krauss or Ceviche Tasting Session, please click here to read my other post.
I went to Dampfer-Beiz and Schoggi Art in the Hotel Lobby. Now I’ll share my experience with you.
Fancy dining experience in a ship on Zürich lake? Or simply having a cup of coffee and some swiss cakes in the afternoon? “Stadt Rapperswil” paddle steamer is the place you should go. This stately century-old steamship has been transformed for the occasion into a floating food attraction serving local specialities. You can have either lunch, afternoon tea, dinner, or simply some cocktail by the end of the day.

The last picture is part of the menu and if you are interested please have a look. 🙂
Be careful if you are sensitive to motion sickness because I felt a little bit uncomfortable in the ship while having afternoon tea. The ship just parks there and it won’t go anywhere. However, you can have a great view of Zürich lake as well as the old own when the weather is good. If you can’t decide whether it’s worth going or not, you can have a look at the pictures above to have a general idea of what it’s like.
Schoggi Art in the Hotel Lobby
Good news! Now every city hotel in Zürich has a Schoggi fountain bubbling with chocolate! Even if you don’t stay there you can go and grab a brochure and the friendly staff will offer you some biscuits, with which you can try the chocolate fountain.
However, what’s the highlight of all the hotels? Of course it’s Best Western Hotel Zürcherhof as Cailler’s chocolate confectioner Gèraldine Müller-Maras won the competition for the Swiss Chocolate Master 2015 in Bern with one sweet piece of Schoggi art – which took her all the way to the World Chocolate Master’s competition in Paris, autumn 2015. And that piece of art is right here, in this hotel lobby.

To be honest, I don’t think it would be a big disappointment if you miss this event as there’s only the statue there, but still if you are a big fan of Gèraldine Müller-Maras, you might as well go and appreciate her art work.
Enjoy and eat well! 🙂
